So... who exactly is the enemy?
People of the middle east? Why? Because the government SAYS they are working on weapons of mass destruction? Have they produced any evidence, or do you just blindly follow them? Or perhaps... maybe, their crime was only having raw resources that western powers want. And their excuse? Large groups of freedom fighters who have no connection to the state who caused some mayhem in western countries.

Ah! Yes, during the second world war the army was necessary for defence and to end the war.
However, were the allied bombings of Dresden, Berlin etc. necessary? They killed hundreds of thousands of innocents to bring down Hitler so effectively pay for his crimes.
As for desertion... Mass desertion is not possible, generals have an iron grip, they rule with fear and humans are instinctive creatures. We want to live.

Murder is "bad". Killing animals for food is nature and so is not "bad". No other sentient animal kills members of its own species (without having something wrong with them) so yeah: murder IS bad.
