IZOD Center Elephant

The Meadowlands and Ringling Bros.® partnered with the Barat Foundation and NJ Clean Communities for this unique project in which area children from several local organizations teamed up to create a one-of-a-kind elephant sculpture using recycled materials.

The 40 students involved in painting and creating the elephantsculpture were from Central High School, The Newark Boys Choir, The Performance Learning Center of Communities in School at the YEES Alternative Education Center and Big Picture Schools all located in Essex County. The students were involved in developing the sculpture, they were asked to research and write an essay about the mythology of elephants and therecycling components of the project.
