In 2005, the leaders of the MICARE and MIMOSA coal mines in Mexico were looking for a way to increase coal production and reduce mine accidents. They engaged FranklinCovey to administer the xQ Survey as a diagnostic tool. They then had all of the management team take training in the 7 Habits, the 4 Roles of Leadership, and the 4 Disciplines of Execution. By 2008, the company was reporting significant improvements in productivity, in revenue, and in safety. Contributing to the positive results was a "best place to work" culture which both management and union members helped create.
