Ok as a person that runs a major lawn care company. I have a few comments. You are suppose to walk fast enough to do 1000 sq ft per minute. Basically a bit faster then normal walking pace. The fertilizer is suppose to hit the Tire tracks of your last pass. The amount of fertilizer in the hopper doesn't restrict the flow. It's just harder to push it.
