I venture in a small motor boat into the 1st cataract area of the Nile immediately South of Aswan for some nature sightseeing. Lots of birding. Filmed in 720p HD with stereo sound. Very beautiful nature. This is probably some of the best natural environment in all of Egypt abounding with birds, fish, and plants. It's actually very clean as Egypt seemed to not have much industry although the tourists trash end up in the Nile such as plastic bottles and trash. Probably due to Egypt being a poor under developed country not having the means for proper disposal of the plastics. Could also be Nile crocodiles in there, but didn't see any. They had live baby crocodiles in one house in a Nubian village I visited on Elephantine Island so they are probably in the river. There used to be hippos and many other African animals. Back in the time of the Pharohs, there were lions, but the Saraha desert was green back then and not such the harsh desert it is today. Todays Egypt is very different and dryer than ancient Egypt so the Nile is about the only place where you will see life other than humans scrapping by on little resources. The thing that came to mind when riding into the Valley of the Kings in Luxor is it's the place most like Mars on the Earth. It's very dry and dead as can be. Driver said it hadn't rained in 10 years, but it rained just a few months ago in Egypt which surely lifted a few boats.
