The Thin Line Between Love and Hate [[chapter 13]]

Kelsey POV
Joe: Kelsey. You have to tell me or Ill never know, please.

Kelsey: Joe, I like you.

Joe: I like you too, I mean youre my best friend-

Kelsey: No Joe. I like like you. And i dont want to be just friends.

He just sat there shocked.

Kelsey: Joe say something, please.

Joe: Im sorry, but I dont see you as more than-

Kelsey: Im sorry I have to go.

I ran off even though Joe was calling my name. How could I have been so stupid to think that I ever had a chance of him liking me back? I ran straight to my house and into my room. I laid on my bed and cried into my pillow. Is this what it feels like to be heartbroken? I mean sure Ive been broken up with, and guys have messed with me, but Ive never felt a pain like this one.


Nick POV
I was so happy that Angela and I were together now. Shes an amazing girl. Joe came into the backyard looking kind of bummed out.

Nick: Dude you ok?

Joe: Oh what? Uh yeah, I uh just need, uh Ill be in my room.

He walked back inside.

Angela: Ok that was weird.

Nick: yeah. Do you think something happened between him and Kelsey?

Angela: I dont know.

She sat up and leaned into my shoulder. I rubbed her arm.

Nick: can I take you out tonight?

Angela: uh, I dont know. I would have to ask my parents, and my dad, I dont know.

Nick: do you not like your stepdad?

Angela: I do, I just, we dont always see eye to eye on things.

Nick: oh.

Angela: well I can go home and ask. I cant garuntee its a yes.

Nick: thats ok.

Angela: Well Ill go home, and check on Kelsey too.

Nick: k. just call me.

Angela: I will.

She walked back over to her house. I feel like there is something else she isnt telling me.
