The beginning of my video on playing the first song, using Bob Dylan's classic. I just kept talking and talking, so I had to break it up into three lessons, just for the guitar playing. Vocals come later.

  • This actually helped me out a lot. I just started playing guitar and I was kinda getting discouraged because a lot of things were confusing me. Thanks for the lesson :)

  • @its0k0t , Glad it helped.

  • the strings arent numbered. they have letters

    1 E

    2 A

    3 D

    4 G

    5 B

    6 E

i remember it by "Eddie Ate Dynamyte Good Bye Eddie." EADGBE

  • Those are the notes of the strings when played open, of course. They are actually numbered too. In this video, my numbering system is the opposite of the standard.

  • Nice tut man. Helped alot.

  • Nice "tutorial!" Oh I get it! I was wondering for a while how you knew that I have a nice tut.

  • Hey,

i just started to play guitar, and i really wanted to learn something by myself in a way to show my teacher sometime and surprise him. lol. Anyways this was one of the easiest video's for me to follow and actually learn something! So thanks!

  • Cool. it's just a shame that the naysayers always seem to be so opinionated but never seem to do their own lessons! Anyways, thanks man, i can now play a song people can recognise and sing along to... wicked! Thanks!

  • isn't it G D E, G D C?

  • i remembered the strings by Elvis Ate Drugs Good Bye Elvis

  • Thanks very much :)

  • @eleveneleven1212 That was what he said

  • i found it very useful ... thanks man

  • WTF

  • you numbered them backwards

the high e its the first string and the low e would be the 6th string

  • There is a third thing you can do. Hit the wrong notes. Open strings or muted strings would be the most popular. This could be called passing chords.

However, the best thing to do is to do a combination of all three. Practice, play only as fast as you can do and use passing chords.
