  • No, wealth is created when people decide [for whatever reason] that gold is worth owning.

Personally, I prefer ramen and filtered water. I mean, in a real emergency, you can eat ramen. You can't eat gold. Ever.

  • Dear Noodle Man, I never suggested eating gold. In a real emergency you will need a lot more than a wet noodle to survive.

  • Se eu trabalhasse numa fabrica de barras de OURO ia logo de saco com uma barra no meio das calças.

  • theres a black man, shit he better not steal those

  • @oelergodt agreed, didn't want to go to that resolution, just giving the high level :) but thanks for expanding

  • @beepIL

you only mentioned factors that influence the supply.. but something that might be rare which nobody wants is still worthless. Demand is equally important when determining value.

  • Yeah I agree with coolstud, I don't get all the hype with gold. Tea batters call it true currency, but currency is simply what someone will accept for service or goods... It's theoretical. Most companies like Goldline are just ponzi schemes run by conservatives.

  • @coolstud88 - I think it resists corrosion. Never had a problem with that on my wires, though.

  • @cyborgtroy true I find it weird that gold is valued so high when it is everywhere and does nothing but conduct electricity above average

  • @beepIL - So by refining gold into these bars, they're making it worth less?

  • @cyborgtroy value is determined by rarity and availability of a resource, thats why gold cost more than iron etc...

    at least for natural resources
