Agreed. We just don't get those big strong thunderstorms like we used to. Hopefully, this Spring will give us our "lightning and thunder" fix. lol!

That happened to me too! I live by the cleveland area but the wind damage happened around 5 pm. Our power went out for 24 hours.

If you were impressed by all this wind from Ike, imagine what it is like to live on the Gulf coast where you can get the full effect. I live in Florida where our 2008 hurricane season is just ending. We had a record breaking year, with one major hurricane each month for 5 months in a row. They all missed us this year, thank goodness, unlike 2004.
You guys have your ice storms, snow storms & tornadoes, which you can keep. At least we can die warm in Florida. Ha ha!

Florida does get its share of tornadoes. Quite a few. Cincinnati has only had 2 tornado warnings this year. Both were dopplar indicated, no touchdowns. In the past 5 years, we have not had the storms like we used to. Poo.
