  • It's not just about the strokes when we talk about lineart/inking.

IMO the first stroke you drew was perfectly fine. It all depends on the artist and what they're used to. I work with quick dynamic lines (because I love line weight) but there are some pros who drag their lines out and create some beautiful strokes! Nothing wrong with working with a steady and slow hand!

Inking is also about atmosphere. You ink in different styles depending on what feel you want. Just throwing that out there!

  • @Coffeekinns No artist wants squiggly/un-smooth lines except if he intends to do that on purpose. However, if an artist manages to get a nice line slowly then that's excellent!

However, most can't :( So hopefully this trick helps them out! Hope you liked it anyway.

  • Thank you so much! This helped me alot.

  • damn it!! i do it like the first one xD. well im a nooby about this, so it really help me!! thnks!!

  • Don't say it's the proper way, say it's your way, or you seem like you're putting down other methods that may turn out better in the end :3

  • Honestly the difference isn't that big :/ There are other methods to make what you call wrong look ten times better then what you say is right that look better :3

Then again, I use Sai, which has even better tools, so... And don't look at my art on here it's old and is horrible, and all my art online is old, so... xD But when I do draw now, it has better lines no matter what software and my method is very similar to what you say is wrong :3

  • Id recommend using the pen tool in photoshop :)

  • good music and good vid.

  • wish I had a tablet :c well I'll have to stick with the mouse, I'll be sure to remember this when I get a tablet...well IF I ever manage to get my hands on one rather >>

  • this helped LOADS thank you, my lines are always wriggly but now i know a way to straighten them ^_____^

  • What program u use?

  • I know that you mean well, but that face looks shit on both of them.

Before you start teaching other people learn to draw yourself.
