@DogOfMyMiss if you smoke that makes you active smoker, passive smoking means breathing in the smoke from a cigarette you didnt smoke. Active smoking causes more harm to your body in comparison with passive one

oh this doesn't apply to the French... this is that french paradox thing... the french eat fattening food, drink wine and smoke more than everyone else and have lower rates of cancer...

I was amazed, stepping over all the bodies of the dead and dying, all due to second hand smoke. Its amazing, because the smokers don't get cancer for 30 years or so after starting to smoke.

Some smokers don't have a very good sense of smell. And when they give up they cannot stand to be in room with other people smoking.

Hey Caffeine, you are absolutely correct. But it is very annoying when these exaggerations are made into laws. Thats is really wrong.

It actually does cause harm, but the health affects are so minute that they're on par with the air you breath in a city. It's not untrue, just exaggerated. Most of the anti-smoking reports never consist of scientific information but pure statistics.
