Does the coal industry really believe carbon dioxide drives global climate? That seems odd, since a large contingency of the science community does not, and the climate is actually getting cooler while carbon dioxide rises. Hmmmm... Is this some sort of political concession?
CCS will work everytime if pumped 500 meters under the sea. I have seen it work, and you can not find it two days after you do it. A good place needs to be found to do it better, but it 100% works. Pumping it underground with salt water is good and works also. Also the best spots need to be found inland for land locked power stations to use. All you have left over is rock. That is why you cant find the C02.
Permanent capture is pipe dream and i'll detail why. Placing a corrosive gas into porous rock formations will inherently dissolve the rock leading to eventual seepage into the atmosphere. This will have much the same effect as melting Permafrost that is gushing CO2 and methane(which is x20 more powerful at trapping heat and transferring long and short wave radiation) except this gas will be highly pressurized. Wonderful. You are wrong, read the books you claim to study. This isn't hard, think.
We understand your concerns, but that's why people are at the Research Experience in Carbon Sequestration -- they're researching ways to make carbon capture better. Check out the video "Stanford University Studies Ways to Make CCS Effective and Safe" from our YouTube channel.
Flat out untrue what she says about clean coal being comparable to solar or wind. Carbon burning points of CSS: construction, energy production, active storage, and retention. In other words, non-stop carbon expulsion. And the laws of thermo dynamics clearly state you cannot store the CO2 without burning more energy than the equivalent gas you store. Carbon burning points of Solar or Wind: Production. Once made, they offset carbon that would otherwise be put forth into the atmo by Coal.
We're not saying that we don't support renewable energy, because we do. We just think that coal is a reliable and affordable source of energy that should be kept in the mix. We need to develop clean coal technology here in the States so we can export it to developing countries like China and India.

Come on, America. it's time to get real!
