No it doesn't, it has more votes than the other two, it does not have the majority, there's a difference. If I ask 100 people if they're gay or straight, 46 say gay and 54 say straight, then according to your logic on creationism, the gays are in the majority.

Having a large number of people is not the majority. Just as with your example, if this were politics and the 40% party got into power, nothing would get through, as the other 60% of MPs would outvote the 40%.

If you have 3 options and it goes like 30%, 30%, 40% than 40% is the majority.
