This is the story, in dance form, of Shiva the destroyer, who in one of his manifestations stopped time, so death would never reach the young Markendaya.

This traditional story is re-told using Bharathanatyam, one of the classical dance styles of India.

This piece has been created as a response to the theme of Death, being a link to the current exhibition at the Leeds Art Gallery by Damien Hirst
