  • my pull start rope ripped i dismantled it and then the spring came out.then i tried putting back the spring,i did that and then i put everything back and it doen,t rewind please help me out!.

  • @WTFKiDzBxTCH When the spring comes loose outside the pulley, it loses much of its tension. The re-winding operation is a difficult task. Your best options are: Watch our video titled "Champion 101: Customer Service" which demonstrates how to start your generator in the meantime without a recoil spring. Next, a replacement spring for the recoil is $5 bucks and comes pre-wound. Order from CPE at (877) 338-0999. Ask for it part by name and they will know what you need. Good Luck!

  • thank you thank you thank you. i have a small engine and couldnt figure out how to make it tighter. i appreciate your help because u ended my two month headache.

    God Bless

  • This is the clearest and easiest to follow recoil pull starter instructional video on youtube.

  • PLEASE REPLY! PLEASE! so u know how when u pull ur starter that it is somewhat hard to pull becaause when u pull it is spinning the thing to start the engine. when i pull mine it is not spinning the thing, it is just like pulling a regular string

  • this is the way I do it, no sense fighting with winding the spring then trying to instal the rope, that's just asinine if ya ask me, you have demonstrated the easiest & fastest way..

  • THANK YOU!!!! the only vid that made sense!!!!

  • Ha i know what I was doing wrong now! I let the spring come to rest and then put the cord in the rotating spring assembly. I didnt wind it up first! so there was miles of slack on the cord! Cheers man, this video was a real help!

  • I pray for the day we can start up lawn mowers with a key!

  • on my lawnmower, the handle or whatever fell off and then the stopper broke so now the rope ran all the way through into the starter, all thats left is the little knot that stops the rest of the rope from going in. Any way that you know of that I can fix this?

  • hey my dog ripped my starter rope and i need help remove it
