In this video I hope to give Information, hope from my experience, & encouragment. GOD BLESS.

Information from the American Pregnancy Association's Website:
A blighted ovum (also known as "anembryonic pregnancy") happens when a fertilized egg attaches itself to the uterine wall, but the embryo does not develop. Cells develop to form the pregnancy sac, but not the embryo itself. A blighted ovum usually occurs within the first trimester before a woman knows she is pregnant. A high level of chromosome abnormalities usually causes a woman's body to naturally miscarry.

A woman's body recognizes abnormal chromosomes in a fetus and naturally does not try to continue the pregnancy because the fetus will not develop into a normal, healthy baby.
This is a decision only you can make for yourself. Most doctors do not recommend a D&C for an early pregnancy loss. It is believed that a woman's body is capable of passing tissue on its own and there is no need for an invasive surgical procedure with a risk of complications.

  • Hi Chloe! I recently had a blighted ovum as well, it was my first pregnancy and I also passed it naturally at the hospital. 3 weeks later I'm still spotting and there is a weird scent from my vagina. The spotting is light and brown, where I don't even need to wear a pad. Have u experienced the scent I am talking about. Even thru showers I can still smell it :(

  • @milkchoco2007 HI! I'm sorry 2 hear about your loss. Yes I had a strange scent which I think may be the same scent you're having. Since I miscarried at home, I actually smelled it as I was trying 2 deal w/ all the blood (changing my pad a lot & blood pouring out into the toliet). It was like a raw blood/fleshy smell. For about 3 weeks, no one else could smell it but me (when I went 2 the bathroom). It subsided, but returned when I started my menstral cycle again 2 months later. Now its gone.

  • its like fresh air seeing this video, It was happened to me recently (22 December 2011) quite the same with this experience, shocked me it was my first pregnancy, could you please suggest me and reply me what should I take for medical, but thank God you've already got a great son, its a big grace, really grateful for it, this video is helpful, thanks for uploding

While I can't give you any medical advice because I'm not a doctor, what I can say is that your body will take a few months to get back on track & will heal. I hope you are able to get preganant again & have a healthy baby soon; God's Will be done in your life! I'm glad my video helped you in some way. =)

  • I agree, it's worse than giving birth. I have a blighted ovum and passed it naturally. Worse pain ever. I had a healthly pregnancy in 2010. Just had another pregnancy that stopped growing at 7 weeks. I did choose the D & C this time. becasue it was way too painfull to do it naturally again. I just had the d&C on Sat. So I'm still suffering emotionally pretty bad right now. Are you guys trying again?

  • Thanks so much for sharing, I miscarried at 5 weeks naturally. I actually thought I wasn't miscarrying because my obgyn told me my cervix is closed and my hcg levels were 226 so I was confirmed pregnant however my doctor did not order more blood test 2 days later to see if my hcg levels were going up or down. He also told me that any bleeding is not normal and I read a lot about bleeding so I was hopeful and praying but the end result was I miscarried. I had low back pain and cramping.

  • @melanievia Thanks for the support! I figured my story could help somebody who's experiencing the same thing.

  • Thank you for sharing something very personal with use. I had not heard of blighted ovum, but found your video full of information for awareness.
