After all that, McCain goes to the meeting and says squat. 9/25/08

Carl Cameron, Fox News: Those inside the room say Senator McCain was almost studiously not taking a position on what was being discussed and from the campaign's perspective, there is nothing even close to a deal.

***

Dodd: I say this, and John McCain's a friend, we've served here together for 22 years. I am not quite sure what John said at the meeting. He said something but I'm not sure -- he gave no indication he was for any particular plan. So I don't know where he is in all of this quite candidly.

***

CNN...

Wolf Blitzer: Give us a little flavor, if you can, Mr. Leader what was going on.

Hoyer: It was like most meetings. Everybody participated including Senator Obama and Senator McCain. I think Senator Obama frankly was more specific and broader in his discussion with the President, Secretary Paulson, had some very good contributions to make. Senator McCain was much briefer, much less specific and indicated obviously that there was a crisis with which we all agreed.

Wolf Blitzer: What about Senator McCain? Did he indicate one way or another which way he was leaning?

Hoyer: He did not.

  • Big surprise! Knew it was just a Political Stunt! McSame is a tool!

  • Of course, it's a political stunt. McCain is so desperate to bring attention to his campaign. Palin was a ploy. This was a ploy. It's just really really pathetic. McCain who admitted that he knows NOTHING about the economy, has to stop everything to fix our economy? Please! Now people say, he just sat there the entire meeting... Pathetic! The whole thing is just really sad for a former hero and a Maverick of the past. How low can McCain go? Only time will tell...

  • America will go down in a ball of flame, due too its overwelming wickedness,Amo 9:8 Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth;saving that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the LORD.Now I ask you's,Who is Jacob,Nowdays? Jer 14:2 Judah mourneth, and the gates thereof languish; they are black unto the ground;and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up. Learn the hinds, the it might be you,and Esau is in Trouble!

  • Well, I'm not saying that some Democrats don't take from special interest. You are right about Dodd. And some Republicans like Ron Paul are honest. As far as Obama, he has run a mostly grassroots campaign and stayed away from having lobbyists in his campaign, unlike McCain. Obamas has had some connections, most of which don't work in Washington. As far as shifting to the middle, aren't both candidates doing that? Hasn't every candidate in the past 20 years tried to shift to the middle? Seriously

  • I dont distinguish between either party as they are both flawed beyond repair. What I am saying is the Democrats play a charade of being for the middle class and what you dont realize is thats how they get elected. They take as much if not more special interest and gifts from these large corporations and to me they are the same in that they are both corrupt parties that continue to supress any third party candidate.

is that a free country? Chriss Dodd Prime example. 75,000 from Mozillo.

  • How can you ever say that the Democratic congress is worse than the Republican Congress? haha I mean, I don't think the Democratic Congress is perfect but your guys screwed up plenty and they have little room to talk.

  • Of course, he knows nothing about the economy. That's why he asked Obama to join him because he knew he had nothing to bring to the table. haha

  • As stated citizens your Cowardly Congress is caving in. Wow I thought those Democrats were for the middle class. They are even worse than the GOP. At least Republicans tell the American people how they are going to stick it to them. The Democrats oppose their policies in the media then cave in to them behind closed doors. What a bunch of Cowards (Are you listening Nancy Pelosi Chris Dodd etc.) Vote them out. Stop being so afraid of Ron Paul or Ralph Nader. After this debacle they sure are.

  • Rep. Barney Frank of Massachusetts, has expressed his opinion, saying "all of a sudden, now that we are on the verge of making a deal, John McCain airdrops himself to help us make the deal."

  • WOW!!
