After 9 years of off & on work I finally finished my 1957 BMW Isetta 300. It was dark green when I bought it in Ness City, KS but had originally been red so I had it repainted back to red. After rebuliding the carb 3 times I got it running great. It will be in a car show & parade in Benton,Kansas April 25 ,2009.

  • Great job - I am in the 6th year (OMG) of a joint on & off restoration. We hope to have it in he paint shop in the next 2 to 3 weeks. I hope it is a good as your paint job - it is excellent! We bought it in parts and very rusty. We have tracked down nearly all the parts we were missing :-/ It is a 3 Wheel Right hand drive 1962 Brighton Built Isetta (the Plus model). Will post it on YouTube when complete.

  • @RitmoNo1 Best wishes with your Isetta. What a fun little car to restore & drive.

  • Nice job. Did you replace the mismatched one piece wheel on it now?

  • @isettajohn You have a sharp eye. Yes, I have replaced the one pieced wheel with the correct split rim.

  • Dave, great paint job!

    Best regards,

    Hector Orlandi

  • Thanks Hector,

  • @jameskmar Thanks - she's painted now and looks great. Got a few problems with the brake and wheel bearing to sort out plus a new interior! Expect to be on the road in Spring. That was some bad luck with you car! At todays price one Gallon of Gas/Petrol is $9.81 USD over here in North West England.

  • @RitmoNo1 Great job of restoring! I had one in 1960 and it was a blast to drive! The only thing is it is low to the ground and I knocked the oil pan loose and without a oil gauge I ran out of oil and ruined the motor! It ran 50 to 60 MPH and Gas was 60 to 80 MPG! Wish I had it now with gas as high as it is!!!

  • Beautifull!!! Congratulations!!!

  • These cars are SO cool!
