The TARDIS materialises in London sometime after the year 2164. Dalek invaders are now ruling the Earth with the aid of humans converted into zombie-like Robomen, but they are opposed by a group of resistance fighters led by the wheelchair-using Dortmun.

The travellers discover that the Daleks have established a huge mine in Bedfordshire, their aim being to remove the Earth's core using a huge bomb and replace it with a powerful drive system so that they can pilot the planet around the galaxy. Ian manages to create a barrier in the shaft in order to intercept the bomb. The resulting explosion destroys the Daleks and their mine and creates a huge volcanic eruption.

Susan has fallen in love with resistance fighter David Campbell, and the Doctor decides to leave her on Earth to find a new life with him, while he continues on his travels with Ian and Barbara.

  • @bigcool89 That's a true slacker for you.

  • @PokeyBessie Yeah, when I first watched it I expected some guy exactly like Tennant to waltz up, in a huge smile. But seriously though, this guy rocks. :D

  • @ThePenguinWatces Check out the serial "The Aztecs" he is so smitten with one girl she assumes they are engaged and the look on Hartnell's face is priceless. Many folks look at unearthly child and refuse to watch. Two strangers break in to his tardis, I'd be pissed off too

  • Despite all the issues, this one series of episodes has made me realize that my original decision to pass over the First Doctor episodes was ill informed. I watched the pilot and assumed it would be so boring, but the variety of stories is great!

Still though, my favorite is Tom Baker. I love him! Jelly baby anyone?

  • Hold on, I just thought...If a bunch of malnourished, tired slaves defeated the Daleks here, how the hell did they win the initial fighting in the first place? :/

  • Giant explosions everywhere and the only place not affected is the cliff they're on right above the explosives.

  • 4:53 lmfao

  • @boiledcrap haha yea. I still find it funny now.
