Just as some background. The robot following the one with the paper, was all done with software. It used image processing and tracking algorithms to follow the robot and "attack" the intruder.
The experiment was a very basic attempt at a typical military convoy situation.
We used image processing on the front robot. Due to limitations, we couldn't get all robots to use image processing at once. Once the first robot found the "color" (HSV value) it set a flag, which told the other robots to go into their own formation. The robot with a sheet of paper attached was controlled with a joystick by one of us.
All in all, it was our first attempt at using image processing to determine formations.
