@libycsirk Just highlight the new key/folder you created & create a new key inside of it so that it now will be expandable..
So if you had to create 'explorer.exe' key of course it will not be expandable cos there is nothing in it;but if you highlight that folder & create a new key 'Drives' it will be created inside that folder hence making 'explorer.exe' expandable..
Had me stumped for a while too,well for 30 secs till I realised what was going on..
Also thanks to Nick for the video..
Cheers

@johnmpc94 With flash drives you need to edit the autorun.inf file, which is probably hidden. It will have a line that says
icon = something.ico
Put a new icon in the root of your flash drive, change that line to whatever your icon's filename is, and save it. You'll need to safely remove and plug your drive back in. It should work.

Worked perfectly for me under Vista Home Premium 32bit. I am always very nervous about going into the reg. but I just followed the instructions a bit at a time and now I have my new drive icon.
Many thanks for sharing this video.
there's another easy way i found is to use "folderchanger" . It changes hard drives, flashdrives, etc easily by using mouse dragging. Google search for "folderchanger" to find it
