hy my name is manny im doing the same floats..
but i see you using a alcohol sealer and after painting you use a polyurethane oil based ? right? why not use the same sealer?

alcohol is to thin and i use it because it dries fast , oil based is thicker and dries even and will not crack in time +it takes oil based paint well

you put silicon tubes on the line- 3 pc. then insert the float stem in them , then it can slide up and down the line to desired depth , i need to make a movie with them finished...
