Song: Grading Papers
Artist: Mr. Rogers
Release: May 2011

I don't see how you can hate math! Mr. Rogers is your teacher...hahah, let's go
Yellow pencils ready
Yellow pencils sharpened
Step into my classroom
Have a seat let's begin
Yup Yup
You ready to make an "A"
Do your homework every night and I promise you'll make that grade
My students love me
Because I bring it every day
I teach math live, never on tape delay
Don't take days off, yes I'm here to teach
With a little help from my friends Roy-D and Dixi
Look at me now
Look at me now, eh
I'm grading papers
Look at me now, oh
Look at me now, yeah
You're such a smart math student!
Now let's talk a little bit about something you all know that's called mathematics
Y = mx + b, that's the equation that's linear
M is the slope, rise over run, b is the y-intercept,
Vertical line, undefined slope. Horizontal line, zero slope... ahem, I'm not done!

Hey students, isn't this stuff a bit too elementary for you?
Quadratics!
Y = ax2 + bx + c is the standard form
If "A" is negative you know for sure that parabola's going to frown
The Y-intercept is "C" and it's plain to see because that's the last thing you see
If it crosses the x-axis you know it's got some zeros, one, two, or none
If you need to solve it, then you have a couple options to choose
Move everything to one side and set it none
Then use quadratic formula, square roots, or factoring
Factoring? Yes Factoring! I'm going to teach you how to factor teach you teach you how to factor.
Greatest common factor or GCF, yes you want to do that before anything else
Difference of squares? Difference of squares? Why do they call it difference of squares?
Need to have a minus sign and some perfect squares
Yes take the square root then put it in two groups, just make sure they got different signs,
Ahem, what's next?
For X-method-method trinomials, find factors for the first and third terms

Then go and guess and check to make sure that the middle term agrees with that guess
If it works then yes, yes you did right, and if not then just get back to it
Finally set those binomials equal to zero and say, hey zeros, "look at me now!"
Look at me now
Look at me now, eh
I'm grading papers
Look at me now, oh
Look at me now, yeah
You're such a smart math student!
Ok
We're done right?
Oh don't give me that look!
Get TI-83 out right now and check your work!
