This is a video showing all 6 fortifactions being fully upgraded and also some gameplay of how each works.
Highest Levels
Barriers - Level 8
Decoy - Level 8
Turrets - Level 8
Sentry - Level 7
Silverback - Level 5
Command Post - Level 4
How to unlock "Sentry" - Upgrade Decoy to Level 3
How to unlock "Silverback" - Upgrade Barriers to level 7
How to Unlock "Command Center" - Upgrade Turrets to Level 8
Playing on insane with hard mutators will increase the progression for fortifications faster than playing on any other difficulty. Having friends give you all their money is also a plus.

you have it backwards it is silverback unlocked at lv7 barriers and sentry unlocked at lv3 decoy
