I have this "blade" for like 2 years and it was good only the day I bought it. It has not a good blade, its rusty and broken, it has a stupid security and the only "good" thing about it its the wood that is the grip, you can use it to make a fire=). It's not that bad, you can cut small things with it and penetrate pinetrees. Tell me what you think about it, rate and subscribe plz.

  • if the knife is so bad , why do they sell 15 million a year ?

  • @HackerGuitarist I now know the knife is not bad, I just didnt knew how to treat it and I am thinking about buying a new one.

  • No offence but you sound uneducated and stupid for not taking care of your knives.

  • @ApolloGalactic you are right, I was never taught to care of nives or anithng about blades. I am not stupid, I just didn't know what to do.

  • You obviously don't know hoe to use and maintain a knife.. It is normal that a carbon blade gets rusty if it lacks maintains.. Opinel are good knives for their price

  • @EmanuelDuguay I guess you are right, I was wanting a really great knife for that low price and in the wrong tool.

  • you are so retarded, the way sou speak is and the way you talk is retarded. actually, I have this weird feeling that I would throw up if you dont shut up soon.

Now to the knife, I have a carbon blade and I take care of it, so please dont be retarded and oil the shit out of a carbon blade, next, dont stab shit with blade that thin and fragile, it is carbon steel so it is really hard but at the same time brittle. and the third, the locking mechanism is cheap but effective, so suck it up.

  • I have owned a carbon steel Opinel 8 for over 15 years and I have no need for another backpacking knife. There are seasoned Canadian and Alaskan hunting guides who carry Opinels and nothing else. The carbon blade is easy to keep rust-free with basic maintenence, and it is easy to keep them wicked sharp. The locking mechanism, although unsophisticated, is simple and very sturdy -- sturdy enough for rough use. Take care of your Opinel, and you will never want a better knife.

  • go to a flee market, and get ya selfs a kitchen knife,.

thats the bests thing U can do,. LOL

  • Stick with the plastic knife you started the vid with or learn how to look after carbon steel blades. Knives are for cutting things not playing with.

  • just because you fucked up your opinel knife no need to slag opinel knifes off because the are great knifes

  • @vascurten Buy an Nº8 INOX and give me your Rusty and broken Tip Nº9, i´ll keep it gladly!

  • 3:17 sums up the video really...

  • Opinel, is one of the greatest folders on the market! Its cheap has great versatility, design, utility, and pretty much are a pure delight to hold in your hand.

I have an Opinel #7 Carbon as an EDC, and I have it able to shave moisture off a babboons ass.

  • Just reprofile the tip, sharpen the blade put a small amount of Olive Oil on it and stop trying to pry with a thin carbon bladed folder!

Next take some time to view some bushcraft carving, knife using techniques from our you tube community...

  • u do not no nothing really do u m8
