how to perform Lasegue Sign, Kernig Sign, and Neck Rigidity on patient with meningitis, that means they are meningeal irritation sign or meningeal signs, they are expalined in a patient suffering with tuberculous meningitis.

  • well, in eliciting kernig's sign, i was taught to flex the hip joint fully.... the thigh should touch the abdomen( as written in Harrison's Internal medicine as well as in Hutchison's clinical methods)... not 90 degree.... any comment?? of course the original sign was that the patients were in sitting position n the knee joint extended passively. positive test being inability to extend the knee jt beyond 135 degree...
