Why Did You Have to Leave? Chapter 43 Part 1

*Joes POV*

I waited patiently at the front of the restaurant for Liz to show up. I had a limo pick her up and bring her here. Tonight was going to go perfectly; I needed to do this now. I felt the weight of the tiny box in my pocket. I needed to do this tonight. I needed to know that nothing would ever separate Liz and I ever again. I smiled as I saw the limo pull up to the restaurant. I went to the door and opened it as I held out my hand for Lizzie. She took my hand and I helped her out of the limo. She steps out and my mouth literally drops. Do I look okay? she asks, slightly blushing. I close my mouth and smile at her. You look beautiful. I reply, kissing her softly as I lead her into the restaurant. Thank you. She replied, smiling at him. I led her to our table for two and pulled her chair out for her as she sat down. Thank you Joe. She said as I pushed her in. I kissed the top of her head and whispered No problem. in her ear before taking my seat. Then we ordered our food and ate dinner, before I took her to the next part of our night.

*Lizs POV*

Throughout dinner, I noticed Joe was acting a bit jittery. I had asked him what was wrong, but he assured me that it was nothing. Did I believe him? No I didnt but I kept my opinion to myself. Now were sitting in Joes car on our way to an undisclosed location, while I was trying to get him to tell me where he was taking me. Joe, please tell me where were going. I begged. He smiled, keeping his eyes on the road as he drove one handed, while his other hand held mine, stroking the back of it with his thumb. He slowly brought my hand to his lips and softly kissed it. Youll see. You know me, I love to surprise you. He replied. I sighed. You Jonas boys and your surprises. I say, shaking my head. He chuckled as he continued driving. I decided to turn on the radio and one of my favorite songs, A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton came on. I smiled and began singing along as I looked out the window. Just as the song finished, the car pulled to a stop. Are we here? I asked. Joe nodded and I smiled, immediately getting out of the car. He laughed as he met me at the front of the car and I realized we were in a field. I looked out to the middle of the field and saw a man standing in a hot air balloon. Joe what is this? I asked, looking up from him as we walked towards the balloon. He smiled. The next part of the surprise. He replied, softly kissing my forehead as we came to a stop in front of the balloon.
