  • josevln,

Shaham and Vengerov are great - I grew up on Gil Shaham. But nobody, NOBODY, has a heart like Oistrakh. His violin does not play, it SINGS. Chants, wails, serenades, croons.

He is the greatest that is on record. He is head, shoulders and knees above all.

  • It seems 6 people can do it better than him by pressing the dislike button ;)

  • @cynic150 Oistrakh had tone too :D

  • For me, the best Sibelius ever!!!!!

  • Around 5.00 it makes me want to do a tango

  • I love this melody 1:30

  • @cynic150 Heifetz had soul too. But in a different way...

  • @hobbitgnr I still prefer this ;)

  • @OBERONSTAR Yes, search for it in Grooveshark, this is the exact name: Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 47, I. Allegro moderato, good luck ;D

  • @hobbitgnr Are you sure you are referring to the correct version? I just listened to it and in my opinion didnt seem to be anything special to compare with this Oistrakh Interpretation..

  • @mshani I think this is not the best version or recording, the best for me is with Mr. Christian Ferras and H.V. Karajan, I uploaded once but Youtube blocked it, try to find it in Grooveshark, its far from this one.
