I sense a lot of conflict, hostility, and passive aggression in your comment. You don't know anything about me, and I don't have to explain anything to you or anyone else for that matter. I don't see how your being "100% American", (whatever the fuck that means), could have anything to do with money or social standing. If you're ignorant and prejudiced enough to blind yourself to the fact that the U.S is becoming an ever more ethnically diverse country, that's your problem. Thanks for playing.
@subversyv I don't know if that was directed to me, but I'm not "playing the race card", and I'm certainly not a "carpet-bagger", not after what I've been through and the sacrifices I've made for this Country. It just so happens that my Father is Mexican, and I do have a lot of ties that link me to Mexico, but my allegiance and my loyalty belong to the good old U.S. of A. I'm not an isolationist, and I do believe that we are interconnected at the very least to our neighbors north and south.
Business executives care primarily about generating profits for their shareholders. They couldn't care less about creating jobs for people, or about the social disparities and consequences that come about as a result of unemployment, because that is simply not their function. I work for a Fortune 500 company that has laid off or fired hundreds without regard for anything but the bottom line. All this talk about "experience meeting a payroll" is completely disingenuous and hypocritical.
Considering the fact that business people put our Country in the situation it's in due to their extreme greed and selfish irresponsibility, I'm inclined to say that having experience as a business person does not represent the best qualification for government service. What we need are public servants that will invariably uphold the law and the public interest, and that's what will bring the best results. Running government fairly and well is very different from running a business for profit.
2:35 Wow...that is really scary! We need to get rid of all the "career politicians" who are just playing the big government game and put some busness savvy, red-blooded, America-loving people in the driver seats! After reading Sarah's book I have learned a tremendous amount of stuff on her. She is one of those get it done kind of people. We need people like her as well. Great video. Thanks for sharing!
