A lens Flare test,

Just watched some of J.J. Abrams newer lens flare filled movies and I wanted those same awesome shots. I decided to give it a try. All lens flares are completely natural, no fake effects done on them. I made all the flares and lighting for this scene with a regular cfl light and a bunch of handheld led flashlights. They're not as cool and stretched as the anamorphic ones in movies but I think theyre as good as I can get without special effects and anamorphic lenses/filters.

Favorite shot is at 1:17

This is shot at 1080p with a Nikon d5100 and a 35mm 1.8g lens. Also the lens had just a regular Zeikos 52mm UV filter on it (gave it a little more flare)

Music is from the movie Super 8 and is by Michael Giacchino

  • interessante!noto in questo video che non c'e rumore digitale, tutto naturale o ritoccato con softwer?

  • @dfhtkb tutto naturale :)

  • haha lol you apparently dont know it ether, its the light that reflects inside the lens, that is what a lensflare actualy is:P

  • @Tricumulairdesigns haha yeah i guess ur right, its kinda an oxymoron of sorts to say a camera makes a lensflare but the camera sensor is what controls the handling of the flare when it comes to color/other things and most importantly it records the flare so it can be seen :)

  • the camera has nothing to do with the LENS flare..

  • there is a reason that they make anomorthic lenses for creating flares

  • "the camera has nothing to do with lens flares" lmao

  • Well Done!! very dramatic effect!

Apparently some people here dont understand that you were going for that effect, not complaining about the camera and the "lens" flare...

  • @SumitNumbaa26 Thx a bunch :)

  • SICK!
