what are you trying to say, if your trying to say that this car can only go in a stright line look at the skid pad results, I think it was like 1.02 g's thats really impressive, and I would bet money that the corvette could beat the buggati aroung the top gear race track!

I'm going to admit it, finally since 60's, 70's United States are making proper sports cars, great corvette!!

@carsismeZ06 I may be late to the party on this but I totally agree. Anyone with half a brain would take a ZR1 over a GTR even if you hate Corvettes. You could sell the Vette buy the GTR and have plenty of $ left over for other stuff. I have no idea why anyone would want the slower Jap car to begin with though!

I have to agree with you.
It is pretty much impossible for anyone to run a perfect lap on the ring. There is always room for improvement and people list off those times like they are from fucking religious texts or something. It is even worse when the time hasn't been set and they act like they know ahead of time (ahem, ahem, SpecV)

No there is aluminium built new V10 Cobra, but only 1 prototype.

ZR1 rules for the money it costs

Agreed, for rack track performance the ZR1 is the King. The Veyron should'n't even come into question, it smokes everything down the 0-60 and quarter mile. But it doesn't compete on the track, skipad is a good place to look, and the ZR1 is the champ.

true, it is going to become a classic beast and it will be worth more and more as it gets older for a stock matching #s one. But, u know how most people are today, they see the extra potential that this car has with forged internals and a supercharger and just wanna see how far they can push it, which i think just with a tune and higher boost, it will do well over 750hp-800hp on stock parts.

for straight line acceleration, buggati veyron can count with 1001 horsepower...
About the ZR1's 'Ring laptime, I personally believe that if you threw in a better driver, you could achieve a 7:25 or even 7:24 lap time. Jim Mero was only an engineer. Sure he knew lot's about the car, but if a driver like Jan Magnussen drove is (driver for Corvette Racing) he could really slice up that track.

Okay, I just want to clear something up here. This is NOT a Nissan GT-R vs. Corvette ZR1 kind of video, and the comments shouldn't be like this either. I do NOT hate the Nissan GT-R. I just like the Corvette ZR1 better. I'm a Corvette guy, that's just me. If I had the choice between the ZR1 and a GT-R, I would probably get the ZR1, but if I had the choice, I would DEFINETLY get both. All posts from here on out will be checked and accepted or rejected.

GOOD NEWS!!! The Corvette ZR1 set an official Nurburgring lap time of 7:26.4, beating the Nissan GT-R's lap time of 7:29. The war is over, and the victor is the Corvette ZR1 people.

Which puts it tied with the PCGT, the fastest production car ever to lap the N'ring. If you look at the video, there is some room for improvement, as the driver had ample amounts of understeer in some turns that he could have avoided.

yeah, I guarantee you could get at least a 7:25 with a more skilled driver. *cough* Jan Magnussen *cough*

The cool part about the ZR1 is that for $103,300 you get 20 mpg, 205 mph, and handling that will get you around the Nurburgring at a supercar pace. Truly a wonderful car.
