  • When square originally started work on FFVII it was being developed for Nintendo's new system that eventually became the N64 but it was supposed to have a CDROM supplied by Sony. This tech demo was the first step to show that they could do it. They spent billions of Yen working on a huge cinematic game and then the Sony/Nintendo deal went sour. There was no way the game they designed was going to fit on a 32MB cartridge so they moved to the PSX platform.

  • @xcom2009 It's from Final Fantasy 6.

  • this could have been great even on cartridge, why they had to cancell it?

  • I wish the video quality was better. Its odd, I actually remember this being the 1st video I ever downloaded off the internet, using a 14.4 modem. It was 10mb and took forever. But I patiently waited. The high res video was more impressive. You just dont understand, going from FFIII, with its amazing sprite graphics at the time, to THIS was mind blowing.

  • i wish the cd thing could've worked out... this game would've been a lot better on the n64 if it were possible.

  • what is the battle Music?

  • That golem looks like the one from Dragon Quest.

  • @scuzzell

    Sony originally planned this.

  • this golem looks impossible to beat

  • Chibi Characters FTW!!!. They should make their comeback.

  • Technically FF7 was always destined for Playstation. The Nintendo Play Station(two words). Had Nintendo not back stabbed Sony and went with Phillips instead as a CD medium, we may have actually seen a Nintendo FF7, but we'll never know what could have been. FF7 debuted on Sonys platform and I dont think anyone could complain.
