I actually did this one too well! Looked like a quick edit to a real photo & not a painting that took 6-8 hours to do. So I posted that version then a revised & re-cut version in which I undid a ton of work. Final product links, yes links as in plural. Be sure to click on the pictures to get the full sized views!

Cavey89 seems to think I am tracing the whole time & therefore he is not impressed. I have two links for you kid.
The first is a link to a couple of very crappy cell phone pics & the shitty doodles I did based off of them. the second is a final painting I did using one of the cell pics as a reference. Look, learn, & think before you start throwing accusations.

Tracing will not make a good artist, it will make a good tracer. I am a good artist not a great one but indeed a good one, & that's due to decades of study & practice. Thanks for the comment & the rating. After watching so many videos on youtube I came up with my own way of doing paintings from reference that goes a lot faster & easier. You just add the photo as a base layer, pretty much trace the base colors & then open another instance of the photo to the side to get the actual colors used in the mid tones, & highlites. Sure it's tracing, for about 5-10% of it, but I've seen pencil artists trace the general outline of photos too so meh. Thanx 4 viewing.

She said it was too good & I agreed. I wanted to leave about 15% of the edges or so unfinished so that people could tell it was a legit painting & not just a quick bit of shop work. I got too OCD on the dress & purse though. The chair ended up messy but the purse, & the dress & other stuff came out too perfect. I went back & undid a lot of the stuff & now there are two version of the painting, the perfect one & the artsy one. check my DA gallery for both versions. Link is in description.

Yes I traced 5% of my painting. OMFG NOOOOOO!!!!! Pardon me for wanting proper proportions. Take notice of the whacked out flickering thru out the video. That's me switching back & forth between the painting & the photo. I'm not tracing, I'm simply looking, then painting. I also have the photo off to the side as well to to lesson moving between the working layer & the reference layer. But hey you're an expert so whatever... oh wait... riiiiight. You don't have any of your own videos.
