I loved him until I heard the Messiaen... I wish I hadn't :(

I have to agree with valevtx, even though she plays it a trifle too fast as well. Andaloro's schtick is "look how fast I can play without any regard for the actual music being created!"

at 9 seconds holy shit! I didn't even see his finger hit that note O.O

I think he should forget about Kapustin. Not for him, seriously. It sounds like doesn't make any difference between some vistuoso Liszt and that Toccatina. Big no no.

...did I miss the trick?

sorry guys, but if you really want to know how this pianist play, I dare you to have a look at this. (search on youtube)

Oooh so nice to hear Messiaen .This guy plays unusual programmes Berg sonata,Ligeti,Liszt harmonies instead of the stuff that really wins competition he didnt make it far into the cliburn but he is another fabulous well trained Pianist!
that was great but i don't get what the trick was. i thought he was gonna play backwards or something

Kapustin Etude: He is playing much too quick, or better: he looses music in his tempo, Kapustin himself is playing rather "slow" to be able to show accents, sycopes, melody bits etc......Purely seen circus-artistically, of course Andaloro is brilliant.
