This is a thorough and non-biased review of the SKS semi-auto rifle for the Recon class. I analyze whether it is justifiably underpowered and outclassed or if it's merely underrated. Everyone has their own opinion but I try to look at it both statistically (facts) and personally through experience.

At the time of this upload, I have the most kills with the SKS over any other weapon. I understand it has weaknesses, but what matters most is making things work for you.

I play on the PS3. I live in Japan. I'm American.

  • recategorised this as a battle rifle not a sniper!

  • @GrimReaperKILLYOU are you talking to me, to yourself, or about something DICE has done? it was never a sniper rifle, just a semi-auto rifle, actually a carbine due to its limitations (lack of burst or full auto means no "assault rifle" status). DICE had planned on putting this in a "battle rifle" category yet that is not a perfect fit for it either since they have enormous power, and this has much weaker ammunition. so yah, ppl mislabel it a "sniper" weapon but thats wrong.

  • try it in hardcore such a beast

  • @alchemy9 ill take your word for it. im not a fan of HC. but it still performs just dandy in regular mode.

2 shot kill no matter what distance you hit the target.

  • @KuzuRanger

agreed, on the top of the tallest building on Sharqi Peninsula I can still take out tons of guys with the red-dot sight by just aiming up slightly using the SKS. On hardcore mode it only takes two hits (unless you hit the legs) to get a kill with the SKS regardless of distance.

  • @hajs55 i agree with alot of ur comment. but ive also found that i can play long-range & outplay most scoped snipers with my holo-sight SKS simply because of their glare and the fact they have to set up the shot (few seconds to hold breath, aim). i make it hard for them to land the shot by simply moving left/right constantly like a little dance, which also greatly aids me in fine tuning my aim. glare is such an awesome tool to fight snipers; aim just above the light for headshot city.

  • @oTBOYo

I'm not, the character limit per comment is 500 and my comment was too long to be submitted into one comment, I replied to myself so that both comments would be connected to eachother.

  • @hajs55 o.O Why you talking to yourself?

  • @hajs55 Unlike the MK11 and other semi-auto snipers it will fire as fast as you pull the trigger. It is meant for aggressive recon play, where you use the MAV as a motion sensor rather then spotting far away enemies to snipe across the map. If you're a far in the back sniper then this isn't for you, but if you're looking for a semi-auto rifle for your aggressive push-with-the-team play style, this is the clear answer. It's also great for squad DM an Rush where enemy intel is essential to win.
