Social Security Actuary Confirms: Withholding Checks Would be a Political Decision - July 13, 2011

During a July 13, 2011 Budget Committee hearing Congressman Huelskamp asked Stephen Goss, Chief Actuary for Social Security, for additional information about President Obama's statement the day before that he cannot guarantee that Social Security checks would be mailed August 3. Mr. Goss indicated that the Social Security Administration anticipates issuing checks, but that it will be a decision of the Obama administration as to whether or not the checks are mailed.

My social security best come in the mail by august the 3rd because i am getting an apartment and how else am i supposed to pay the rent?? I also buy my own food with that and when i have alittle spending money i either save that or at least make sure that my grandmother holds onto it for me.

@dmarescajr Yeah. Oh..wait...no....it's too hot! Marches, protests, rallies, and even riots in America seem to have just dissolved and are just that: history, read or remembered. This is besides the issue at hand, but think of how how much would have been achieved if Martin Luther King Jr.'s only presence was a FB & Twitter account, and a vlog: nothing.

If this is cut, there's going to be a LOT of people out of their house. And they're going to be doing a lot worse than rallying.

All this is bull shit, they aren't thinking about all of these people who get these checks. they use them to pay bills, to buy food,make car payments,ect. If these people don't get checks they can't pay for all this shit. they won't have cars, running water,electricity ,and food. so if you think about it, half of America is gonna starve and be homeless because of government assholes!
