The Goldenrod showboat is the last authentic Mississippi River showboat in existence! She was one of the largest and most elaborately decorated showboats ever built. She was built in 1909 and is older then the Titanic! It is very important that we save this one of a kind boat and preserve her. Below is a short video I put together with just a few out of the many historical facts and stories this boat holds. SAVE THE BOAT!!!

  • Great video! I had the pleasure of performing on the Goldenrod in numerous shows from 1993 - 1997. Many great memories. The best was meeting my wife there! Thanks for making and posting this video.

  • Nice bio of the Showboat. Best wishes with Restoration. There's more about the Showboat at: goldenrod-showboat and stlragtimers websites

  • parkersburg!!! not parkersville lol

  • I was a techie on this beautiful vessel, doing everything from sound, to lighting, to stage managing, from 1983-1988. I even worked the PBS Emmy nominated documentary, as well as all the "Ragfests". Some of my fondest memories are tied to this piece of history, and I'll nevr forget al the talented actors, dancers, singers, and musicians who were a BIG part of my life then, (theater is VERY demanding!). Nor will I forget my first exposure to Ragtime and Traditional Jazz. Very nice vid.

  • Is there a website that deals with saving the goldenrod? Who is working on this project? Several years ago I got a call from a crazy guy saying that I needed to call the mayor because he was bringing the goldenrod back and he wanted to hire me to run the theater. I thought it was a great idea but the guy seemed nuts considering that I don't know the mayor and would no reason to be able to get in touch with him. Then he wanted me to contact an air force base to hire a Chinook.

  • Awesome job Tyler! Great video, beautiful showboat.

  • National historic register extends her some type of protection. Let's hope the city of St. Louis can reach out and save her. What a fantastic showboat with deep history. Important to the point she's got to keep alive.

Excellent video and great narration, keep me informed and updated. Greetings and best wishes from us Yankee's in Boston MA
