It's kind of sad to me to hear people call Gunbuster "boring," though- to me it's one of the most intensely compelling anime series I've ever seen.

OMG... this brings back memories of my childhood, where my uncle would let me stay up late with him and watch anime. when I was a little girl, Noriko was my idol haha..! The original Gunbuster will always have a place in my heart.

just started to watch this because i wanted to watch more mecha animes. watched the opening and thought "damn, the gainax-bounce? thought that was "invented" later" and then the gainax logo appeared^^ lold so hard

funny to identify an animes makers by such a style element xD

I know it sounds stupid but, I almost named my daughter the main characters name. I was out voted. She knows this and had seen the movie. I've had it on VHS and DVD. she's now going on 16. I had this before she was even born.
