I do not care if it is a big "no no" in your book. It was 18th century London, not alot of actual Law back then (in the movie at least) Nellie Lovett deserved btw, if she loved Sweeney she wouldn't have lied about Lucy or led him on to believe she was dead. Sweeney rocks, Lovett doesn't!! Now kindly piss off!! I am ignoring your further comments.
