On September 4 2009, Jane-Finch residents hold a petition signing opposing the Toronto District School Board's decision to have armed uniformed police officers in high schools in the Jane-Finch area. Reporter Sabrina Gopaul visits the Jane-Finch intersection to get the community reaction about having cops in the schools. Interviews include, Winston LaRose (Jane-Finch Concerned Citizens Organization), Kurtis Bailey, Jesse Zimmerman, Kabir Joshi-Vijayan (Newly Organized Coalition Opposing Police in Schools), and many other residents.

You see, at jane and finch 70% of the students are garbage with virtually no future. Living here and being forced to go to school with those animals was probably the worst thing i have ever had to do. I saw drugs get sold infront of me in class. I saw huge fights with weapons.. all this savage shit.

The reason the cops arent nice in those areas is because when you hang around shitty garbage all day long you start to stink.

First off,

Police belong in schools where there is rampant drug dealing and weapons. The schools they listed aren't normal schools.

The black drop out at 40% has nothing to do with the school board, its due to horrible parenting and culture (Rap music, gang bangin). The reason white people get suspended less in toronto.. well .. news flash.. there really aren't many white people in the city.

Honestly the people at jane and finch need to shut the fuck up and raise their kids properly.

Police have too much discretion & politicians are giving them even more power to use that discretion. Just because you're not doing anything illegal, doesnt mean a cop won't charge you with 'trespassing/public nuisance or even j walking if they feel u r not being as courteous as they would like.
