  • Un-do all of Whiteheads work and then you can improve things.

  • I think the problem is that for many years the organ has been looked after by Andrew Whitehead and it got worse and worse with his inability to tune and understand action work . I'm certain I've never heard its full potential. It used to play quite tidy until he looked after it. Listen to the tapes Vol 1. It played well.

  • This organ has never much of an instrument in my view and this in my view confirms it even more. Think the problem here is that it starts next to the snare and that is all you can hear. I think to record it you need to stand further back. Listen to the A&R 92 Key Marenghi to hear a well balanced organ playing on this scale. Perhaps a proper rebuild and some revoicing and balancing would improve it. Looks impressive but in my view it does not live up to how it looks!
