Jose documents his 2008 trip to Japan. In this special episode is a demonstration of a typical Japanese vending machine, high on the resort island of Enoshima. Notice how vandal-free these machines are... and look out for the mystery drink marked with a question mark, which, thankfully, this photographer did not taste.
Their vending machines rock; THEY COME OUT IMMEDIATELY! It's like here in the US we're so obsessed with 'how' the drink comes out (multiple machines making use of being able to watch a robot arm grab it, seeing a drink come on a conveyor belt, etc etc) that Japan just goes for immediate convenience. But, given their lifestyle it only suits them.
....those drinks look tiny. I'd probably want to buy 2 or 3 of them only because I'd be so thirsty. :)

Nice!
We don't have any vending machines :(...well there are some hot coffee vending machines but it's not the same like in Japan. It's great when in the country were you live a low vandal level unlike mine :(
