In an interview, Leonard said that he thought there were a few of his songs that were better translated via other singers (e.g., Billy Joel on Light As A Breeze). This, here, sounds like a Woody Guthrie imitation.. how 'bout Johnny Cash doing a Leonard Cohen song. I like Teddy Thompson's version better.

@Tinhamper wow I lived on Roy and Laval and had friends living on the corner of Laval and Napoleon and on City Hall in between Roy and Napoleon. We would often hang out in the parking lot of the school yard between city hall and de Bullion & Roy. We probably used to have some friends in common. What years? I lived in that area from 61 to about 85. the 60's were the years I would hang out there.. Live in Ottawa now everyone is dispersed
