You may suffer slight motion sickness. If however you manage to get through half the vid without throwing up you may find the inverted Cross interesting. (The filming is not the most steady, walking and filming I find difficult especially when one is trying to observe all around for safety reasons too) I figure it may have fallen damaging the grave next to it. Someone may have placed the fallen cross back on the original grave. If the intention was for it to be laid inverted, then one may speculate as to why.

The origins of the inverted cross stem from ST Peter. The inverted cross was not invented or first used by Satanists. It is the cross that St Peter was crucified on because he didn't feel himself worthy to be crucified on the same form of cross as his "messiah", Jesus Christ, was.

However if it was intentinally laid inverted..I doubt it would be in honor of St Peter!

'The inverted cross This cross is not broken, but turned upside down. It indicates the rejection of Jesus Christ and contempt for the gospel of salvation. Inverted symbols are typical of the opposite values pursued by Satanists. People who are sometimes sacrificed to Satan on Black Sabbath are crucified upside down in accordance with this tradition.'

I did a walk through of Camberwell Old cemetery. If you like graveyards and are fascinated by grave stones then this is the vid for you.Paranormal activity I did not detect while there. I did not encounter any other person while there either. However after watching the footage I did observe some strange movements. I would however like the viewer to decide. So please feel free to comment or point out any strange activity. The more trained eye may see more than I.

In the 1850's, the parish of Camberwell was having difficulty finding space for burials in its churchyards. The Camberwell Burial Board was established to find a solution to the problem. They did - in 1855, the board bought 30 acres of meadow land and established it as the Burial Ground of St Giles, Camberwell. The cemetery has fine examples of gothic revival architecture. The lodge and chapels were designed by George Gilbert Scott's architecture firm - who also designed St Pancras station and the Albert Memorial. By 1984, 300,000 burials had been carried out at the cemetery. Camberwell New Cemetery was founded in 1901 in order to provide more space. The majority of burials now take place in the New Cemetery.

  • Why are the hands of angel statues, usually pointing upward, in cemeteries often broken off?

  • Metal pinning in statue may cause condensation, rusting and movement. The pins may eventually bend or break, and the weight of the stone may naturally break off the arms and hands. I daresay some caused by vandals. Interesting observation. Thank you for ur comment :D

  • Some actually may be made that way..if u observe Greek art some statues have no arms

  • I thought that they might have been made that way, like maybe it was symbolic. Someone told me once that the statues and carvings of angels on graves were made to point up or down according to the character of the "recently deceased" and to signify where they're heading in the afterlife

  • Ohhh sounds a bit judgemental..lol Dunno if a family would put up a statue with hands pointing down!! Must look it up..thanx for the info :D

  • Oh meant to add that an inverted cross doesn't always have Satanic links it could mean the Chuch of St Peter who was crucified inverted. Just a thought.

  • Hiya ..I did notice when I went back quite a few crosses were placed upside dowm..believe they had broken off original stand and just placed like that with no any subversive intentions. Thanx for comment :D Must find out what EMP is???

  • Where is this cemetery?

  • Noticed a lot of graves are neglected so it gives off the impression that ' its haunted' its sad to see old cemeteries like that go in to bad shapes...love the sounds of the music effects. I thik most of them fell over due from elements of weathers and years of disrepair ...Makes you wonder how ppl respect the dead.

  • @EVEntially EMP stands for electromagnetic pulse.

  • wow whoever was in charge of the up keep of this cemetery should really be repremanded this is a real disgrace, great video tho

  • @EVEntially - That's due to breakage, not design. Hands, feet, and noses --anything that protrudes -- are the weakest parts of a statue, and Greek statues over the years have been subjected to a lot of wear and tear. More than likely the hands on the angels in cemeteries are broken when the statues are moved, or damaged by lawn equipment.

  • JUst watched it...wow you do tread on some spooky A.. Cemetery's...love the feel and the music...take care E.

  • Great video, very creepy cemetery and I love the choice of song.

  • Yeah it could very well be just a myth but from what I heard it wasnt the family but the stonemasons who were having a bit of a sly dig. yah never know tho
