Steve Coogan says boycott Nestlé

This is a clip from 2001 when Steve raised the boycott at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Nestlé was sponsoring the Perrier Award for comedy. Baby Milk Action held demonstrations to raise Nestlé's aggressive marketing of baby foods and in 2006 Nestlé pulled out and the Perrier Award is no more (there is a different award with a new sponsor). Well they use child slaves to pick the cocoa beans, their chocolate is not fair trade. And supplied powdered baby formula to poor families without proper instructions and implying that it is a great form of nutrition on it's own, so there were infections and when the babies got sick the mother's milk was dried up and it was too late to help them.

Most people who boycott stuff just go back to buying them again after a few months. It's really only people with the time and money who get behind these causes. The rest of the world are too busy getting through each day.
