"Good morning everybody! Right now we are in Illinois on our way to Indiana!" Mr. Jonas announced, waking all of us up.
I heard some rustling, the ground shake as everyone jumped out of their bunks, and saw the eight o'clock sunlight through my eyelids.
I shoved my face under the pillow to go back to sleep, but someone yanked the pillow off my head.
I opened my eyes lightning fast and saw Lauren holding my pillow and smiling.
She looked really tired too; I guess she's used to waking up around twelve also.
"C'mon, we gotta get up." She said.
"Fine." I said cause I had to.
I sat up and looked around the tiny space in the bus. I saw Mr. Jonas and Mrs. Jonas up near the front watching the road, Frankie was playing with the laptop, Kevin was sitting in the back area, and Joe was jumping out of his bunk. I've never seen Joe with his hair curly. It's quite an amazing sight; I bet Lauren is enjoying it.
The only person I didn't see was Nick.
I got up and walked over to Joe.
"Where's Nick?" I said, still sleepy.
"Oh, he's in the bathroom," He said pointing toward the door across from us, "I wish he'd hurry up!" He said in a little louder tone so Nick could hear him in the restroom.
"I'm almost done!" Nick said, you could barely hear him.
I looked down at what I was wearing and noticed I was still in my pajamas; then Nick walked out.
He looked me up and down; probably thinking about how my hair isn't straight, how I'm in my pajamas, and how I probably look so tired.
While he was looking me up and down, I was doing the same to him.
He didn't change out of his pajamas, so he was wearing a Prince T-shirt, blue baggy plaid pants, and no socks. His hair was still amazing...
"Good morning to you." He said with a smile, looking me in the eyes again.
I couldn't say anything, I just nodded my head.
I was dreaming for a second, and then Lauren ruined it.
Darn her...
"Can I change?" She asked, pointing toward the bathroom.
"Oh, yeah, sorry." Nick said, moving out of the way.
We all had to move for Lauren and Nick to move; that's how tiny the space was.
She went in the bathroom; I looked at Joe and found him staring at the bathroom door.
I walked back to my bag, and grabbed some clothes to wear.
I was searching the bag for my straightener, but I couldn't find it! I guess I left it in the bathroom when I was bickering with my mother.
"Oh crap!" I said out loud, meaning for it to be a thought. They all looked at me, except Frankie cause he had headphones on.
Nick was the one that walked over.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"I forgot my straightener at home!" I said. Joe must've overheard cause he chimed in.
"Oh, you can use mine if you want." He offered.
"Thanks so much Joe!" I said.
Then I heard Lauren from the bathroom say:
"No! Don't straighten your hair! I like it the way it is!" She exclaimed.
I started laughing a little. After I finished laughing, I sat down, and Nick sat right next to me, nearly leaning on me.
Awkward! His parents were watching us!
Lauren walked out of the bathroom, I was about to go into it, but Joe snatched the bathroom, so I stayed where I was.
I could feel Nick's breath on my neck, it was very warm.
"I have nothing to say. It's terrible." He said, breaking the silence we had.
His parents returned their attention to the road.
He grabbed my hand and started holding it, rubbing his thumb over the back of it.
"Me too. But it's kind of awkward with your parents here, while you hold my hand and sit so close to me." I admitted.
He chuckled, and then whispered in my ear:
"They don't mind. They told me they like you. They think you're nice, and they're glad I found you." He said his whispering tickling my ear.
I smiled.
"I'm glad they like me." I whispered too.
And he got very close; he leaned his head into my shoulder.
That felt kind of weird, but nice in a way.
"Nick," I said, I had to get this out," I really want to be close like this, but you don't know much about me." I said.
He moved his head, but his hand was still with mine.
"Oh. Okay, then tell me about yourself." He said interested.
I laughed a little bit.
"Thanks for the enthusiasm." I said.
"Your welcome, now tell me about yourself. You probably know a lot about me." He said.
"Yeah, pretty much." I said.
He laughed softly.
I took a deep breath and started.
"Okay, so my name is Anna Chr..."And I started my story for him.
