  • While I have grown up in an ARP church, have parents, grandparents and even great grandparents that are Erskine alumi and have known Christ my whole life. I am truly disgusted at the words and actions taken by Erskine students. I, as a Christian, feel is it our duty to love EVERYONE, as God loves us, even non-Christians. To suggest that they have no place on Erskine's campus because it is a "Christian" college baffles my mind and truly makes me question where Christianity is going.

  • As an Erskine alumna, I am disgusted, embarassed, and ashamed that Erskine students posted this video with these views. Don't hide behind Christian views and then try to make Erskine into a cult where only those who think a certain way are accepted. Did Jesus only reach out to those who already believed? I'm a Christian girl who loves Erskine, and this is sickening to me. I'm praying for Erskine but because I feel the devil is there - riding the backs of views like this.

  • WELL said , BUT why ARE you THERE?

  • oh, brother. can't your parents just home-school you?

  • To me, the mission of Christians is to reach the lost. It seems that some of the students in this video seek to ostracize and separate themselves from the lost. Seems hypocritical to me.

  • I agree with shulerb. If you wanted to go to Bob Jones University, you should have applied and enrolled there instead.

  • I'm just an outsider looking in but as a practical matter can Erskine survive financially if it DOESN'T attract students from beyond ARP membership? Better watch out or you will kill the college with this kind of rigid attitude.

  • Erskine was, is, and should be a place where Christian students can "work out their faith with fear and trembling". Not a place where they are spoonfed pablum that doesn't challenged them intellectually or spiritually. Challenging your preconceived ideas is what a college SHOULD do. If these students can't take critical analysis of their faith in a Christian environment such as Erskine, they will suffer for it later in the real world.

  • I came to Erskine a nominal Christian. I left Erskine a deeply committed Christian with an EXCELLENT education. Did I constantly hear about Christ in my biology class or in my calculus class - No. But I was able to sound out my questions in a caring Christian environment. We were taught to critically analyze and debate. If we strip Erskine of its academic freedom then the essential character of Erskine will be lost to the detriment of these students.
