Matilda Joslyn Gage worked tirelessly with Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton to win the votes for women during the suffrage movement of the 19th century. A progressive visionary of womens rights and human liberation, she defied laws that denied women and Blacks their autonomy and liberty. She was the author of many speeches, papers, articles, and books on social issues of her time.
