My invisible god Zog is bigger, stronger, and more Omnipotent then your invisible god and she challenges your invisible god to an arm wrestling contest on the alter of the virgin queen Melticalanconproconsedc.

And when born again Christian fundamentalists from Oklahoma or wherever enlist in the military for the sole purpose of going to Iraq to kill the infidel Muslims and calling themselves holy warriors, this is somehow a more peaceful religion? Does this retired general Boykin not see his own hypocrisy as a man wearing the Army uniform and going around claiming to be a peaceful Christian? All religions are used for evil and war when evil warlike people make up the faithful.

@itsonlymepeople I guess your entitled to your opinion on that but I'm sure there are a lot of history buffs that would disagree.
-
@itsonlymepeople Your getting a little sidetracked it seems. The main reason for colonization really isn't the subject.. We were talking about the influence of laws and Christians had a big part in that. I appreciate the brush up on history and I am not gonna argue with you on the reasons why people came over.

(CONT) I hope that covers what you said about them creating their own laws. Religious toleration and political freedom weren't too common in the more devout colonies so I stand by my statement that the influence of "God's laws" on our Constitution and our country were not as important as Christian revisionists want it to be. On a final note have a Happy 4th of July.

@itsonlymepeople So I said Christians as a whole aren't responsible for some misdeeds of others and thats not a representation of the religion even if there are over 1 billion of them. So yeah the small sect that does the bad stuff really doesn't count. Thats kinda like saying white people are responsible for slavery even today. And trust me I've seen that argument, as ignorant as it is. Also English common law was developed by who? Another nation with Christian influence.

(CONT) that the religious persecution that motivated Christians to come here came at the hands of OTHER Christians whether Catholic vs. Protestant or Protestant vs. other Protestant. They wanted the right to worship as they pleased yet frequently denied that right to others (Roger Williams, Anne Hutchinson, etc.) Earlier I said the experiences of the colonies played a part in our Constitution. (CONT)

@screwopenborders Since Native Americans (Indians) were the original settlers I'll assume you mean the European settlers. My comment had nothing to do with European colonists being Christians. Most were but the fact remains the economic motive was the main reason for colonization. Religious reasons were also very important but what Christians so often fail to acknowledge is (CONT)

@Krumbz2003 Thank you at least somebody has the gall to stand for modern civilzaation.
-
@itsonlymepeople You have the right to disagree but until you provide evidence that Christians weren't the original settlers and didn't create their own laws then your fighting a lost cause.
Islam and Christianity are BOTH religions.
They are also both of the most outdated, sexist, racist, ignorant and insecure religions in the world.
It's 2010. Wake up and smell modern civilization already.

All religions are wacky. A belief system centering around a deity (or deities), when there is absolutely no proof whatsoever that any of these imaginary beings exist, is simply irrational.
