Ghoulardi was the best. Wish he was on air again.

Agree, this clip cannot do justice to Ghoulardi's antics: primitive green screen showing him "running away" from Mothra, the "polka dot paint contest" (won by someone who sent in a paint roller with circles cut out of it), his relentless tweaking of elderly local journalist Dorothy Fuldheim etc. Long live Ernie Anderson!

Jeeze, my childhood was SO long ago, I sure do miss some of the things that made it SO great.

Unfortunately, this footage does not do justice to Ghoulardi. There are only 18 minutes of video left from hundreds of hours of programming. One can never realize what the real Ghoulardi was like just watching the available video.

Oh I know! I have a friend who lived in Cleveland as a child and he goes crazy whenever Ghouldardi is mentioned. He has all the T-shirts & videos etc. Its one of those things - you had to be there!

Ghoulardi's son is Paul Thomas Anderson, the director/writer of There Will Be Blood.

i think it's interesting how his character Ghoulardi resembles Daniel Plainview

Yes, and Anderson's "Boogie Nights" was dedicated to his late father and Robert Ridgely.

Cool it with the boom booms!
Actually when he first got started he was scarey to me as a kid then he became funny.
